Choose a practical foundation

The right hosting
for your website.

Choose hosting by what the application needs to run. A language alone does not guarantee reliability; plan capacity, updates, backups and monitoring for your project.

Browser files

HTML / CSS / JavaScript

Useful for
Simple websites, portfolios and landing pages.
Hosting fit
Render Static Site or Cloudflare Pages
Setup
No application server needed. Upload the files; for our HTML ZIP, publish the extracted folder.
Keep in mind
Contact APIs, accounts and databases require a separate backend.

Basic and Advanced Pro packages available

JavaScript framework

Astro — static output

Useful for
Content websites, blogs and business pages with fast static delivery.
Hosting fit
Render Static Site or Cloudflare Pages
Setup
npm install && npm run build; publish dist.
Keep in mind
Server rendering and secret API calls need a server adapter/runtime; they are not included in our static exports.

Basic and Advanced Pro packages available

JavaScript framework

React — client-side / Vite

Useful for
Interactive browser applications.
Hosting fit
Render Static Site or Cloudflare Pages
Setup
Build the app and publish its output. Configure SPA route fallback when using client routing.
Keep in mind
React server rendering is a different deployment; a static host does not run a Node server.

Export planned

CMS / server language

WordPress / PHP

Useful for
Sites managed through a visual CMS, plugins and themes.
Hosting fit
A maintained WordPress host with PHP and a database
Setup
WordPress recommends PHP 8.3+, MariaDB 10.11+ or MySQL 8.0+, and HTTPS. Check current requirements with your host.
Keep in mind
A static site service cannot run WordPress. Native block themes are available as Beta exports; verify activation on a staging site.

Hosted platform / theme format

Blogger / XML

Useful for
Blogs managed in Blogger.
Hosting fit
Blogger
Setup
Import a compatible XML theme in Blogger; attach a custom domain if needed.
Keep in mind
XML is the theme format, not a general server language. Blogger hosts the blog.
Our downloads
Basic / Advanced Pro XML themes — Beta

Server language / frameworks

Python — Django / Flask

Useful for
Database-backed applications and custom APIs.
Hosting fit
Render Web Service or another managed Python app host
Setup
Deploy a production application server, configure environment variables and attach a suitable database.
Keep in mind
Choose a production plan and backup policy for required uptime; a static publish directory does not execute Python.

Export planned

Server language / framework

Java — Spring Boot

Useful for
Server applications, integrations and APIs.
Hosting fit
Render Docker Web Service or another JVM/container host
Setup
Build the application and container image; bind the server to the platform port. Size memory for the JVM.
Keep in mind
Render uses Docker for Java rather than a native Java runtime. Database and persistent storage need separate configuration.

Export planned

Server runtime / framework

Node.js / Next.js server

Useful for
Server rendering, protected APIs and application logic.
Hosting fit
Render Web Service or a compatible server deployment platform
Setup
Configure the build/start commands, production runtime, secrets and database. Static exports can use a static host.
Keep in mind
Do not expose secret keys in frontend code. Static exports and server applications have different hosting needs.

A simple recommendation

For the HTML and static Astro starters currently available here, Render Static Sites or Cloudflare Pages fit the deployment model. For WordPress choose a maintained PHP/database host. Blogger hosts its own themes. Python, Java and Node server applications need an application runtime and any supporting database.
